How to root JetDroid (The easiest way)

Postby Keiran » Sun Feb 13, 2011 10:43 am

Applications needed:
z4root
Astro File Manager

You need adb drivers for the phone on your PC, download the latest PC studio and install it, it should have the spica drivers.
For linux you will not need drivers.

Step 1:
Put z4root.apk on either your fat or ext3 partition (in windows you can use ddms to inject files).
If you do not have astro already installed please download the .apk and place it in the system/app directory on the ext3 partition.

Step 2:
In JetDroid open up astro file manager and find the z4root.apk file, it will be where you put it earlier.
Install z4root through astro, it NEEDS to be installed this way.

Step 3:
Make sure that your phone has USB application debug on, you can find this option in Settings -> Applications -> Development
Connect your Jet to your PC.
Run the z4root app and click root.
If it fails, in ubuntu do chmod.
