Hi,
when I extract the files of the Jetplatform0.3pre1.tar, I just keep getting this error:

Code: Select all

translated:

tar: data/misc/wifi: Function utime() failed: changes not permitted
tar: data/misc/wifi: Cant change module to: rwxr-xr-x: changes not permitted
tar: Exit bugstatus because of earlier bugs

Anyone ?

I'm not an expert on .tar, but for the sake of detail, was this when using 'extract here' etc?

Did you try executing it as super-user / root (su)?

Problem solved xd.
Extracted the files to my fat32 partition under Windows,
then switch to Ubuntu, fire up Nautilus & copy the extracted files to the beloved ext3 !
And finally my Wifi works !
thankss :D

This might help some testers get on the same level to test with.

Original 1.5gb.zip method Updated:
I made a tar.gz backup of my working 0.3pre1platform + "Wifi_working" kernel.
Code: Select all
1 Jan 2011 updated 121mb Gapps included:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IU34ZDRN
or
http://www1246.megaupload.com/files/06c236f6f8989c4b712fd4812fed3481/JetDroid-Root-1Jan2011.tar.bz2

( 2.1-update1 , 2.6.29KB@Ubuntu #42 , build ECLAIR.eng.root.20101202.222800 )
Unzip "right click extract" to clean root ext3 partition on memory card, chmod already done, maybe not needed so do it just to be sure as below.

How:
Replace ????? below with your ext3 media card label (ie: /media/1.5gb or /media/JetDroid )
Code: Select all
cd /media/?????
sudo chmod -R 777 /media/?????/*

Normal calendar app storage error = skip past.

Note: Always on + 30 mins to screen dim mode.

What works / Work In Progress:
USB = yes works.
USB media player / Mass storage / PC Studio = WIP (Work In Progress)
Wifi = yes works WPA
SD card fat32 access = yes using FileManager App.
AppsToSD app wants to format sd card = do not use.
Audio = NO not for me = WIP
Sim card "voice" not tested = using "3g data" sim in S8000.

Testing some extra apps I have, will zip and post download link to these working free apps later as well.

I get this error message:
Code: Select all
l@l-VirtualBox:/media/jdroid$ sudo chmod -R 777 /media/jdroid/*
chmod: cannot operate on dangling symlink `/media/jdroid/etc'

looking at the contents of the tar file, this etc is a 0 byte file, so maybe this is supposed to happen.
