Carlos_Manuel,

Do you think there are any risks trying to install Windows Mobile onto Jet while it is in JetDroid mode? It is for sure that I cannot install WinMo from Java since there is no a DosBox type software. So what do you say to that,

First install Android on Jet, and from there install Windows Mobile solely on SD card.

with JetDroid mode you can not install nothing other OS to Jet!
Windows phone needs to be flashed via multiloader or what is the app for TW firmware flashing...
about Ubuntu installation via Android that I am not sure that might work or maybe not... (I have not tested)

Installing OS on JetDroid mode will not work so there is no risks for it but it's good to make backup ROM if don't want lose data and other files...

Initializing baseband ...
Enabled SD-card LD0
Initializing block devise ...
Reading partition table ...
Faild to mount ext2 filesystem
Unable to mount ext 2 filesystem
Loading the kernel ...

i followed the instruction but this gives me error on the JetDroid boot mode. it stays on Loading the kernel...
i used 2gb SD card 275mb for fat32/1579mb for ext3 partition.. does this due to sd card? because it says that it needed SD HC card..

The following error could have been caused by the SD card type, you are right with that. Be sure to use at least 4Gb SD HC card with at least class 4 data speed. Good luck next time!

it needs to be 4GB or with bigger size and SD HC! SD hc class 2 is maybe slow (many have said that) class4 is maybe fastest.... with 2GB size it will not work (I have testes and not work for me)

Initializing baseband ...
Enabled SD-card LD0
Initializing block devise ...
Reading partition table ...
Faild to mount ext2 filesystem
Unable to mount ext 2 filesystem
Loading the kernel ...

make sure you added all these files to JetDroid partition:
sbin, system, data folders
init, init.rc, init.goldfish.rc, default.rc, zImage files..

if you are using kernel then try without kernel maybe then it works... ?

Working here - it would be nice to be able to do the whole thing without Windows (I'm a Linux user first and foremost - Windows is strictly on an as required basis).

Camera tries to work, but doesn't. Music plays, but no actual audio. WiFi works OK.

Something I'm not clear on is the best firmware to install - I re-flashed to S800MCEJC1 but maybe someone can tell me what may be a better choice in the UK (using either vodafone or 3 - I have two phones and switch the sim cards around depending on need and calling credit).

It will be nice to reach a stage where calling works and firmware can be replaced rather than using an SDHC card, but good work up to now.

One thing I've noticed is that the lousy touch screen on the Jet seems more responsive and sensitive with android - I don't need to hammer it quite so much :)

So, it is May 23rd now, year 2012, and I really love my Samsung JET and we've been dating since August 2010. So now, have the call and messaging and other issues been fixed? Is JET finally usable with Android OS??
