Hey!

I'm not good with building ROM from source because I have never done it before and now when I have 64-bit slow old PC then I'm able to try build ROM from source (Gingerbread CM7).

check the images to see what I've done!

then it continues installing the stuff from it and sometimes again there comes the fatal text..

later it can't find the envsetup file..

I'm using Linux Ubuntu 10.04.4 as "second OS" (30GB - free 22GB because of the Java, lib files and the updates + ubuntu extras from the ubuntu software store..)
Intel Pentium 4 2.80GHz X68 based processor
1GB RAM

Hi Carlos_Manuel,
Good to see you are trying to build the platform. :)
Don't give up so early... ;)

Your main problem seems to be the network connection. repo sync will hang or terminate if your network connection breaks. If it breaks then you have to again run repo sync. It will start downloading from the same project where it stuck. Unless the repo sync is completed successfully, there is no point in building since the repository won't be setup.
So wait until the repo sync completely downloads the code. Also building with single core P4 with 1GB of ram could take a while, so be patient. :)
Let me know if you face any other problems.

OK! :)
I have waited 4 hours to try complete it, it takes usually something 4-6 hours time,it depends of CPU + network speed + RAM?

Can Gingerbread be compiled on X86 Linux Ubuntu? or is it still impossible to build Gingerbread on 32-bit PC? at least Froyo should be able to build on 32-bit PC.

I'm using the USB wireless adapter what is old and it's for XP so on Win7 and on Linux it sometimes goes off and on my Acer the WiFi does not stay on when using Linux Ubuntu and I didn't have time to find the fixes for it.

if I try again to repo sync then still it would fail.. :/
