I got the Jet over a year ago and back then some internet forums were filled with people who had that problem. Some had managed to get it repaired under warranty, but when I went to the samsung guy he said it actually didn't fell under warranty, but he wrote it down anyway because I had another problem with the headphone jack. I was lucky mine got repaired for free.

This is a very common problem on resistive touchscreens. I have this oil stain, too. It is however only visible in neon light. In sunlight or light from a tungsten lamp it should not show. Protective films on the screen can also be a cause for it.

Cheers,
Dopi

P.S: I split the two posts related to this problem from the old thread and created a new one in the general Jét section.

I do not have this oil stain, but I've noticed that when you use the phone some rainbow colour lines appear on the screen... and you have to clean them :?
I think this is a problem of all resistive panels, because they're made of plastic, isn't it?
Cheers,
Jose

I also do not have this oil problem. But it seems that the speaker and the battery icon from the Samsung OS bar are burned into my screen. When I open a totally white picture i can hardly see the 2 icons at the top. In JetDroid i noticed that icons, too. So it must be related to my screen and not to the OS.

I don't have this problem, but I will say from a quick search that the 'burn in' is due to the OLED pixels fading due to use. As the indicators are always active these are the ones that fade first.
