Hey guys,
Does anybody know where can I order a new jack for the headphones for Samsung Jet? Mine seems unresponsive. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes only left side of the headphones work, and sometimes neither works, and Jet is showing menu where you have to select TV out or headphone set...
:(

For parts no clue, google search or ebay or copernic search program for windows works well to search for what google can not find.

google.com search and once it has result then select shopping option on top of the page.
samsung s8000 parts
samsung s8000 earphone

Also check the volume control on the earphone mic small box and wiggle it as the volume rotational movement thingy gets unhappy sometimes on any similar device.

Same goes for where you plug the cable into the mic on cable thingy and where it plugs into the phone.
Rotating the actual male part of the plug as it is into the female hole part of the phone can maybe also get sound working better or try to twist the cable close to the connectors as the wires inside the cable could have been damaged.
You can try to plug in another earphone cable and see if it does the same. You can also plug the earphones directly into the phone instead of via the microphone cable.

Once you have done all this and still the same then check the earphone "hole in phone" for dirt or something that could interfere with the connection like a type of corrosion.

This should save you some time and money to replace the correct problem item.

PS> the earphone on phone connector if it is a bit loose you can heat up the connectors where the solder + connector gets together and this usually fixes bad connections or micro / hairline fractures in the solder connection.

I still don't know why the earphone connection has a angled surface where the earphones male and female connection happens instead of a snug fit flat surface. Maybe I received the wrong earphone cable for this.

I wonder how much would it cost to repair the headphone jack? I will probably take my Jet to service center, and see what they can do and for what price.
:?

You can order the new headphone jack from cnn.cn, they are 5.99. Moreover, you can replace the jack yourselves.

I will do that this week. :)

Here is a tutorial to take apart Jet. http://erkinson.altervista.org/en/come- ... uchscreen/

No problems listening with headphones on mine, try to push the jack all the way in or wiggle it around and see if you at least get some static or something. If nothing else, take it back for a replacement
