Hi darkmoon078, that is really an extremely interesting news. I already thought that the S3C6410 platform was on the way to be phased out and replaced by S5C6440. Now I will have a look at the sources published on the Samsung opensource site. Does anyone know a source for firmware (binary) download?

Thanks to information from the FCC I can confirm that this phone does really use the S3C6410 CPU :D

Where did you get this information from? This would mean we may get binaries for the display driver under Froyo.

Cheers,
Dopi

P.S.: I can't read much of the other link you sent. What does it say?

Will see what I can find for firmware.
This is cdma only not quad band phone.

Sprint version:
Code: Select all
firmware       DI11      10/10/2010
Fixes issue where icons and widgets may disappear from screen when switching between IDs

The kernel that is being used or modified kernel on the Sprint Samsung M920 Transform:
Vamp / Vampirefo 2.0.8 kernel is latest.

I had a look at the kernel that is available from the samsung opensource site. It looks like a modified M900 kernel. I still need to run a diff to see where the changes are but I don't expect it to be big. Nonetheless, an official Froyo release for this phone would be a great help :)

This is good news.
Does anyone knows if this phone (or maybe a other phone) has the same MAX audio driver as our samsung jet?
If it is the same, i can try to get our audio device to work.

So far I have not yet come across any other phone that uses the same audio chips as the Jet. There is just one good news. You can download the datasheet for MAX9880 - our audio codec - from the maxim website. I did not see this be available when I last checked some months ago.

Hi darkmoon078, thanks for sending this information. I checked some details on I5510 and it seems this is another phone that is very different from M920. This phone uses the Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset (see below). No S3C6410 AP is used here. Thus it does not help us much.

However, as Froyo is availabe for this phone I can imagine that it will eventually be made available for M920, too.

Cheers,
Dopi

The M920 Samsung official Froyo, still looking for any version user or Samsung.
I can build a generic Froyo or we can use the Spica one or any other one + add a few optimizations. The kernel + drivers concern me, even with the 2.6.35 modules getting them to work or a complete in kernel one would be nice.

The closest I can get is the GT-I9000 Froyo source + kernel 2.6.32 GT-I9000_OpenSource_Froyo_update2.zip using the aries_eur_defconfig .
Code: Select all
arch/arm/boot/zImage
   net/netfilter/xt_TCPMSS.ko
   drivers/onedram_svn/modemctl/modemctl.ko
   drivers/onedram_svn/onedram/onedram.ko
   drivers/onedram_svn/svnet/svnet.ko
   drivers/bluetooth/bthid/bthid.ko
   drivers/net/wireless/bcm4329/dhd.ko
   drivers/scsi/scsi_wait_scan.ko
   drivers/samsung/fm_si4709/Si4709_driver.ko
   drivers/samsung/vibetonz/vibrator.ko

hey dopi.

This can maybe help with developping audio.
I will look into it.
But are you still developping in eclair, or is it froyo now, this isnt clear for me yet.

I will do what i can :).

Cheers,
Minibike12

P.s. I have slow progress because i can't be online often.
This is because i have to learn for my exames :( (boring :P)
