Have a look at these specs for both the Xperia Arc and the Galaxy2.

Xperia Arc

Galaxy2
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=2206&c=samsung_galaxy_2

Galaxy2 "canceled"
I presume they would want to do better hardware version than this specs maybe dual core, 1 version for Apple and another slightly different for Samsung.

Amazing that no one is using the ARM15 2.5ghz quad core in phones yet.

Yeah, but I think that's wrong... xperia arc processor is Qualcomm 1Ghz, not 806.4 Mhz.
Anyway, as the processor is not the best one, I'm in love with this phone because of the design, the camera, the screen and of course Gingerbread pre-installed. It's really really cool 8-)
Come on JétDroid team!!! ;D

Well, I've been watching some videos and I've noticed this phone is laggy, lg new phones are laggy... almost all new phones are laggy! And I think this is because of the interface... I'm reconsidering about getting a Nexus S

Yeah Gingerbread needs a lot of cpu power so 1ghz minm. specs or you have to do some serious optimizing.
Likely most manufacturers will release patches later to get their phone running better.

Just run the windows SDK virtualmachine for Android and any Gingerbread versions suffer.

I think they did not have time yet to optimize it + gcc4.4.3 only became standard with Gingerbread release so likely most stuff was build with gcc4.4.0 . Time will tell.

The HTC Touch 4G also has a 1ghz processor and ratings of 95% + avg. , not sure if it has Froyo so getting 2 for my old folks. Most reviews say they changed to this HTC from Nexus and other phones.

BestBuy has them for $99 each with a contract so just what the doctor ordered.
