Is it only on the Orange network? I think after watching a video of it, the only thing that puts me off is the name.

Hi!

In Finland these come with contract, but they are not Sim-locked.

EDIT: And no... These aren't only Orange-network. We don't even have Orange here in Finland :)

Oh, well in the UK it is on Orange only but you can get an unlock code or one on eBay.
Not a bad phone for £99

... another new phone that is (spec-wise) inferior to the Jet. I don't know if the 600MHz MSM7227 is adequate for this display size and resolution. A while ago I had a look at a low end smartphone (240x320 pixel display) with the MSM7227. This phone was not quite a blessing. However, let's wait for a review of this one. The price is nice but I think I rather spend some time to have the Jet work just as well :D

Cheers,
Dopi

OK, I've had this phone since before Christmas and I'm really happy about it!!

This phone is REALLY good!!! I can play Angry Birds and Asphalt HD very very smoothly!! (If you don't believe me watch videos from youtube ;) )

I run Android 2.2 on Modaco custom rom (Japanese Jellyfish RLS7 with ahb overclock) and I've overclocked my processor to work on 750MHz and it's rock solid. Also my AHB is 50% overclocked. I get 579 from quadrant scores (better than Nexus One).

I would really suggest everyone to buy this phone. It's available in Finland for about 120euros.

- Best regards

What about a simlock-free one?

If possible can you look for the ZTE CR750 / ZTE R750 android firmware / android files on ZTE website and send me a link so I can download without registering.
I do not want to register on their website as well, it is tough keeping up with all the new websites + logins for them.
The hardware is similar to the S8000 and looking at this android version might help to get our S8000 working properly.
The source files for their kernel and android version would be nice as well if available.

First orange launched vegas (it seemed to be the most cheapest phone in 2009 to me as compared to other branded mobile phones and was only a badly customized zte phone :x), then came orange san francisco (well it is quite good as per its specs with entry level hardware ) and now orange barcelona. 8-)

So far i found orange mainly customizing zte phones but why dont they create something innovative rather than customizing zte's (coz previous two phones vegas and san francisco were modification of ZTE phone models) however this time they changed their mind customizing even :o huawei phones.

However in my opinion buying francisco on contract with orange will not be much beneficial (unfortunately my brother bought it on contract with orange for 18 mnths jst 2 weeks ago and this is where he made a mistake :( ) as their business monopolies restricts the built in orange android os to be upgraded to other available open source android versions while all other smart phones running on android os (either gingerbread or froyo) could be easily upgraded to latest os version as per an individuals will however this is not the case with Orange San Francisco.
